Carpak Turned Off-beat Oasis
Launched November 2021, Abbots Yard is an outdoor beer garden and communal dining hall with entertainment, catering and event spaces, situated on the corner of Victoria Street and Nicholson St, Abbotsford.
Comprised of multiple converted shipping containers, featuring bars, food service and enclosed seating banks, the venue is designed to compliment the urban aesthetic of North Richmond’s bustling multicultural food precinct, with a contemporary edge similar to iconic Melbourne venues like Section 8 and the newly launched Grazeland.
The project is a partnership between some of Melbourne’s most experienced and successful live music and hospitality venue operators, supported by the City of Yarra.
We launched in direct response to a need for outdoor dining and venue revitalisation, with a string of successful events and community initiatives, it is now a weekly local venue, suited to public access as well as bookings.
The Abbots Yard team will work with a range of entertainment providers and producers through established relationships. from its festival and venue booking ventures. This provides the opportunity for activating the venue, on occasion, as a mini festival site, complete with live entertainment, staging, and performers. The rest of the year, we will operate as a dining hall, function space, and community group hub.
